Ahhh, the Edsel...I was just at Wikipedia reading up on it. All told Ford invested 400 million dollars in it's development. That was in the late 50's, that is roughly equivalent to 2.8 billion today. http://www.chacha.com/question/how-much-was-25-dollars-in-1960 Thanks MC for more nostalgia.
I was just a little munchkin when the Edsel came out, but I was old enuf to be aware of all the controversy. I've seen a couple in the past few years (in museums? car shows?), and looking at them now, 50 years later, I find them absolutely beautiful. Man I wish I had one stashed away in a barn somewhere!
Your Plan 59 car art has inspired me to upload years of classic car photos I've taken around town. If you wanna take a look, hit me at http://picasaweb.google.com/d.jones.oh/ClassicCars?feat=directlink
