I heard a caller on a radio talk show this morning use the word "basically" at least 15 times in a call that lasted less than 1½ minutes.

The proper usage of English is diminishing rapidly because everyone is texting and tweeting and using nothing but abbreviations. Most high-school kids can't even spell or write a complete sentence. Sad, really.
