and again and again...
We're supposed to get our first snowfall of the season here today, only about an inch. Every year, as the temps plunge into the teens, and the wind screams down across the lakes from Canada, and the snow starts to blow, I always wonder about the first settlers in the towns here in the northern third of the US...They found the beautiful forests and pure lakes and rivers, and rich soil, and endless promise, but then the first winter came, and stayed, and stayed, and stayed. . .
ReplyDeleteWTF were they thinking? They wanted more of that? They couldn't just move a couple hundred miles further south??
